MORST'S VIDEO OF THE WEEK: FIND A PENCIL!

Mother Hips and Backyard Tire Fire just played a pair of “Co-Headliner” shows in Chicago last weekend. Friday, BTF opened for the Hip,Saturday, the Hips returned the favor and opened for Tire Fire. Jason “Picklemic” Loomis and I went to both shows, and teamed up to make the recordings for this week’s pick. Mother Hips have a new album out – Pacific Dust, which is very cool, and I recommend it highly. One of the tracks on it is called White Falcon Fuzz, and it’s got some great lyrics. “Never thought I’d find myself at all, much less with a pencil for a weapon in the fifth dimension!”

I’ll pick the version of White Falcon Fuzz from the Saturday Hips show, when they were the opener. As usual, I recommend the entire show (and in this case, both shows!) but I am selecting one song in particular. . . I am making a mix, you know!!!!
