Last week’s pick was the first Camper Van Beethoven song of 2010, this week, we’ll get it going with Friends, the start of the Cracker set from the very same show. The song originally appeared on Johnny Hickman’s solo album Palmhenge, released in 2005, and was redone with a full band arrangement for Cracker’s 2009 album Sunrise In The Land Of Milk and Honey (SItLoMaH to those into the whole brevity thing.)
The 2009 album version featured Patterson Hood of the Drive-By Truckers singing Johnny’s part, but in concert, Johnny sings the part of Patterson singing the part of Johnny.
