Listening Theme SPECIAL – The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
Hi all and welcome to the 4 day Listening Theme Street Party to celebrate HRH Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee. The road has been closed, tables laid out with coronation chicken sandwiches and bottles of Tizer – all that’s missing is some music!
60 years on the throne certainly deserves a special listening theme and for the past few days I’ve been thinking of some ideas of what I could listen to. Seeing as Her Majesty hasn’t released a decent album in years I thought I’d give her back catalogue a miss. Instead I decided to listen to albums and songs released 60 years ago – 1952! (I think some Googling is in order) What was the World listening to at the time?
On top of that I’m going to attempt to listen to 60 songs featuring ‘Diamond’ in the song title (not necessarily from 1952).
If you have any suggestions I’d be most grateful.
